Free Tool to Split a CSV into Multiple Files

Upload one CSV, pick how many rows per file, download a .zip of smaller CSVs — each with the header row repeated, ready to use on its own.

Split a large CSV into smaller files

A CSV that's too big for a spreadsheet's row limit, too big to attach to an email, or too big for a tool that chokes on large uploads — the usual fix is breaking it into smaller chunks first. This reads your file, splits the data rows into equal-sized groups, and repeats the header row at the top of every chunk so each piece opens correctly on its own.

How the files come back

You get a single .zip download containing every chunk, named <yourfile>_part1.csv, _part2.csv, and so on in order — the last file holds whatever's left over if your row count doesn't divide evenly.

A worked example

A 25-row file split at 10 rows per file produces three parts: two 10-row files and one 5-row file, each starting with the same header row your original file had.

Questions

Is this free?

Yes, completely free, no account or signup needed.

Is there a limit on how many files it'll create?

Up to 200 part files per split. If your row count and rows-per-file setting would create more than that, raise the rows-per-file value.

Does every part file keep the column headers?

Yes — every part starts with the same header row as your original file, so each one opens correctly as a standalone CSV.

Is there a tool that does the opposite — combines files back together?

Yes — the Combine Multiple CSV Files tool stacks several CSVs back into one.
