Free CSV to JSON Converter
Upload a .csv file, get back a clean JSON array of objects — one object per row, ready to paste into code, a script, or an API test.
How this works
A CSV row and a JSON object describe the same thing in two different shapes — this reads your file's header row as the field names and turns every data row into one object with those fields. Numbers in your CSV stay real JSON numbers, not quoted strings, so the output is ready to use directly in code without a parsing step.
A worked example
A blank cell in your CSV — a missing age, a skipped note — becomes a proper JSON null in the output, not the literal text "NaN" that some quick converters leave behind (which isn't even valid JSON, and will break a strict parser). Every file this tool produces is checked to be valid, parseable JSON.
What happens to my file?
Nothing is kept. It's read once to build the JSON and never stored afterward.
Questions
Is this free?
Yes, completely free, no account or signup needed.
Can it produce nested JSON?
No — a CSV is inherently flat, so the output is one flat object per row. If you need nested objects from flat data, that's a manual step after converting.
What happens to blank cells?
They become JSON null, correctly — never a stray text placeholder that breaks a strict JSON parser.
Is there a tool that goes the other way?
Yes — the JSON to CSV Converter turns a JSON array back into a CSV.
Need the whole dashboard, not just the data shape?
Upload the original CSV here instead, describe what you want, and get back a real, editable .pbip project — free, no Fabric or Copilot license needed.
