Free JSON to CSV Converter
Paste a JSON array (or a single object), get back a clean CSV — proper comma and quote escaping, one column per field.
How this works
An API response is almost always JSON, but a spreadsheet or Power BI wants rows and columns. This reads your JSON, treats each object as one row, and writes a properly quoted CSV — any value containing a comma or quote mark gets escaped correctly, so it opens back up as one clean cell everywhere.
A worked example
Paste JSON with a nested field, like {"name":"Alice","address":{"city":"Seattle"}}, and the nested value flattens into its own column named address.city automatically — a naive converter that only handles flat objects would choke on this or drop the field entirely.
What happens to my data?
Nothing is kept. It's read once to build the CSV and never stored afterward.
Questions
Is this free?
Yes, completely free, no account or signup needed.
Does it handle nested JSON?
Yes — nested objects flatten into dot-notation columns (e.g. address.city) automatically, rather than failing or dropping the field.
Do I need an array, or does a single object work too?
A single object works — it's treated as one row. An array of objects becomes one row per object, which is the more common case.
Is there a tool that goes the other way?
Yes — the CSV to JSON Converter turns a CSV back into a JSON array.
